Tropical Forestry Must Read List

This list was originally prepared for the UK Department for International Development (DFID) by the Natural Resources Institute, University of Greenwich.

Its purpose was to recommend up-to-date sources of information for DFID’s Technical Cooperation Officers (TCOs), Associate Professional Officers (APOs), consultants, researchers and other people working on forestry projects in developing countries.

It is in two parts: the first part lists documents available as books, periodicals, articles, CD-ROM or on-line; the second part lists general Internet electronic sources of information.

Both parts are grouped into broad themes to help selection.

This list was last updated in 2000, and it is planned to update it soon, every six months. We welcome recommendations for inclusion, especially articles from journals that are good summaries of topical issues (please give as much detail as possible). However, we try to limit the list to 100 references. Please contact:
