  PAUSE FOR CLAUSE
Some documents are difficult to read, understand and remember -  there are many clauses, lists,
conditions etc. in long
sentences, without the use of  bullet points, semi-colons etc. Typical problem texts concern legal
or policy matters. One
way of analysing such text is to place each clause or phrase on a new line, such that each line is intelligible
by itself. This
method can also be used for producing drafts where it is difficult to avoid the use of multiple clauses
- e.g. when drafting
legislation. See the before and after example at the end.
