 INVENTORY TEAM SIZE
You may need separate teams for plot layout and for assessment, it depends how dense the undergrowth
is. For line
demarcation of strip plots you need a compass man, a couple of pole men (to measure out the line and
measure off the
recording units) and 2+ men to cut the undergrowth. The recording team will need a booker, 2 diameter
readers and a tree
spotter, where identification is a problem. Electronic recording may limit the need for a separate
booker. For plantation
inventory, you can generally get away with very small teams combining assessment and plot location as
a single activity.
